Do you people not read? Konami has categorically killed this rumor (again). But the Xbox fanbo...Family will not let it die. The whole thing started when some crappy game site run out of Romania of all places posted a 'rumor' suggesting that MGS4 would appear on Xbox. The trouble was that that report was totally bogus and was shown to be a verbatim copy of a previous hoax about MGS3 appearing on Xbox, only with 3 changed to 4 and a 360 appended to the end of the Xbox. However such is the desperation of certain sections of the Xbox faithful, that the rumor simply won't die. No matter how many times Konami state it's not happening. No matter how many times the root reports are shown to be bogus.
As usual Monsters and Critics are reporting trash without verification. Pity. It would be so easy to do some actual research and publish the story after a delay, but that would mean not beating 100,000,000,000 other blogs to the 'Net with the 'scoop'.

I dont know why everyone is denying this right off the bat, if you recall Metal Gear was originally a Nintendo Game that went to the PS for Metal Gear Solid, as well as Metal Gear Solid 2's showing on the Xbox it proves that anything is possible.
And with many 'PS3 Exclusives' jumping ship to other platforms I dont see how this is compleatly unreasonable. I guess the PS3 community is just pissy because they see there precious games going to other systems, Its basic economics guys, you produce a game for a wider audience and you get more sales.
More sales = more money in your pocket, hell I wouldnt be surprised if withen the next couple years there are no more exclusives.
With the money that microsoft have they will have this title for the 360 no worries. GTA prime example GTA for xbox has more content the PS3 version and why you ask because Microsoft dished out a load more money for more cotent. The same thing is going to happen with MGS4 its just a matter of time.
the game is a really good and i got the ps2 to play on the game(s) but atm i have gone for the xbox for the game halo3 but if this is ture with mgs4 comming out for the xbox its good and bad its good cus a lot of fans can play the game but bad cus most ppl will be like ah good i dont need to buy a ps3 and thay will loss out of a lot of money all thow i love the game thay should not give it to the xbox..if the ps3 want to save them selfs....but if it dose come out in xbox it would be cool

It's more than likely anyone who says it'll never happen is a pissy ps3 owner who is on the rag because ll their games are going to xbox's powerhouse. The same applies to GTA with the more content being added because Microsoft was willing to dish-out a crap-ton more money than sony was to have a better produced game with a better replay value etc. If the company wants more money they will jump on the Microsoft lalee-train and go to town with full wallets.

No chance of this happening, it is already confirmed many times by Kojima himself; he struggles to fit it on a 50gb blu ray what chance does your puny 9gb dvd hold? Also, if you're gonna claim how awesome 360 would be with blu ray, bullshit, it just means you can finally have some uncompressed textures and videos. It aint gonna suddenly make your graphics 5x better! Dream on, and enjoy the tedious times you can have with Master Chief.

Considering Kojima said they used the FULL capacity of the Blu Ray Disk (50 GB) and Microsoft has repeatedly said they would not pursue a blu ray player console.. (with a fantastic 8 GB storage space on the Xbox's aging DVD player and a failed HD-DVD system add on..)

I just want to know, yes or no. Frell the rumors. Even if Xbox has to have multiple discs for Metal Gear, it's still not a huge concern. Even Metal Gear Solid Snake on PS1 was 3 (4?) discs, so it's not unfamiliar territory. It would also be a unique postions to be in with multiple discs, since most games don't do this anymore. The only argument about the amount of discs would be the price tag.
Playstation wouldn't have to worry about an exclusive game to drive up sales, if Sony could guarantee that more than half of their systems didn't crash. I've heard less accounts of XBox having hardware difficulties than PS3. Anyone who is in the market for a console has to consider the price, and Sony is asking for quite a lot for a product (and company) that has numerous system malfunctions.
I've been waiting 7 years for this game. I would like an answer of either a PS3 price drop, at least $100 (within the next 3 months), or MGS: Guns of Patriots migrating to XBox 360. Just yes or no.

Have no fear xbox 360 owners, It is possible that you may not get mgs4 BUT I have been hearing alot about hideo kojama planning on making a new series of games(possibly xbox xclusives? mabie not?)that will be like the metal gear series, it will definately have the stealth and tactical espionage action that made us fall in love with MGS in the first place! But whether or not it will be as good or have the same passion as MGS is a different story!?

Im not taking any sides on this because no one accualy knows anything at the momment except that it IS coming out for the ps3 next month first even if they do release it for the 360 the ps3 will have it themselves for a while,
i have a 360, but this is snakes last game (well atleast for the original line up of mgs there will probably be spinoff games) but i think they will put it on both consols in time we just dont know when.

Given GTA IV's sales performance on both high-def systems, I think MGS 4 making an appearance on 360 is looking more and more likely. The MGS series has no allegiance to any particular system, with MGS 1 on Gamecube and MGS 2 on Xbox. Money talks, and Mr. Kojima may be feeling the burn of PS3's small user base not being an adequate enough audience for all of his hard work.

Just wanna throw this out there, Kojima is retiring. MGS4 has a chance to go to the 360 probably cause of the sells it would make. But theres a high chance that it will stay exclusive. Sony eh... their messing up with the ps3 a bit. Microsofts budget is 5.92 billion and Sony is 7.05 billion. Sony needs to start putting out money to promote their system. With exclusives i think sony should have published MGS4 like microsoft published NG2. Microsoft needs to stop porting the exclusive games to the PC the point of having a console is for exclusives. The MGS series is my favorite gaming series ever but honestly i wouldnt mind it coming to 360 but then theres another question. Why do i need a ps3 now? Sony needs to use their money to focus on their exclusives and not on blow loas of money on things like 'Home' honestly their kicking in way too much money for something that doesnt seem like its gonna make much money. Both are good companies and both make good systems. Sony needs to try to please their customers with games and Microsoft... actually their doing alright. Here is the truth
It wont come out for 360, as konami have said, it CANNOT fit on DVDs which the xbox uses, as it is an absolutely huge game, with cutscenes that are like 90 minutes or something.
Remember- DVD holds about 4gb of memory Bluray holds 50gb of memory.
I remember konami saying that they would need like 9 discs or something ridiculousm and i actually quite surprised that a lot of people still hold on to something that is completely impractical to do.
I think it would be awsome if they made MGS4 available to Xbox360 owners, it would make it so that all can enjoy this great game without spending a butt load of money...

It was planned originally as a Gamecube exclusive game. Let's face it guys, if a game as huge and as epic as MGS4 went multi-platform it basically means 'MORE PROFIT' for KONAMI.

Hey huge fans of MGS who want to play MGS4 on their XBOX...you don't deserve to experience it. Know why I bought a $600 launch PS3? Because I knew this would be an exclusive and I actaully thought ahead instead of freaking out over the 360's head start when you should have just been replaying MGS3 over and over until the good stuff came out. Get over it, losers. Either get over it, or cough up some money for the good stuff.

Before I saw my few words I do want to say I am an Xbox360 owner and I am not bashing Sony or Konami in any way. and the only way I can honestly see MGS4 coming to 360 is by having the game developed with HD-DVDs. Which means us 360 owners would have to purchase the $100 add on HD-DVD player plus another $60 for the game itself. But even this possiblity is way over the edge because HD-DVDs are not being produced anymore because of Blu-Ray now being the new technology.
The only way I would buy a PS3 is when there is a price drop. Because most of the games that I do want to play on PS3 are on 360 anyway. Except for Killzone and MGS4.
But it would be awsome to see this game on 360!!!! Cause I have played both systems, and the reason I like the 360 better was the selection of games, price, and online play. The PS3 may be the more powerful system but compared to the price vs. games and graphics, xbox360 is the way to go.
i will believe an mgs4 coming to 360 rumour when i hear Kojima come out and says it himself. Til then, i will still be deciding whether or not to sell my 360. In my opinion, gears of war sucked, halo 3 was overrated, crackdown was a bad game from the start and the only good game for 360 exclusive was Bioshock, which is an unbelievable game. Here is a great idea, remake Metal gear, not mgs, and later remake Metalgear2 modern for both 360 and ps3 so people will shut up
Adding on, xbox owners had their chance with mgs2. sales were not good from what ive seen. If it had sold good then there would have been no worry possibly. other than that the controls had to be weird. now 360 owners will have rely on rumors. so dont whine because you had your chance. but there is a VERY SLIGHT chance this will come to 360 if any.
Look at this from a business perspective. Konami will defintely deny anything about MGS4 going to the 360 even if it is going multi-platform because that will definitely hurt the PS3. 360 owners who want to play MGS4 would just wait for it to be released in their console. But I really won't be surprised if it appeared in the 360 after 10-12 months if it didn't sold as much as Konami wanted it to.
Besides fanboys should stop quarrelling about who has the better system. PS3 has some awesome games and so does the 360. I have both and I've been enjoying the games on both systems.
And propbably in the near future, exclusive games will boil down to the first party developers only. The best bet for third party game publishers is to go multi-platform with their games. More money and more people will be able to experience what they have to offer.

Once this 'will it or will it not' rumor die down on MGS4 I'm already thinking about the 'FF XIII to xbox 360' rumors that will surely flood forums in the future.
Well, unfortunately for Xbox 360 only owners Hideo Kojima has absolutely no plans to release MGS4 on the 360. He says that the MGS series is a 'made for PLaystation' game.
But here's a little something that would ease your pain, he did say that Kojima Productions are making Xbox 360 games. I'm playing MGS4 right now and if you haven't played the prequels, well, you might not 'get' it. I lit up when I got to Shadow Moses Island. You'll know why when you reach it. At last, I'm spending more and more time on my PS3... which cost me a months work.
But I am excited to see what games Hideo Kojima has for the 360.
Xbox has sold about 18 million copys thus far, ps3 12 million and the wii about 24.5 million
Honestly think royalies here. Would u rather appeal to an audiance that about 12 million or lets say 30 mil, or how about 55 mil if they wii used dual layer discs they could put the game on 4 discs for both xbox and wii.

Im sure Kojima, is a pretty smart guy, of course he would deny any type of multi platform rumers time and time again. It would have slowed ps3 sales for people who are just buying one for MGS4, and im sure there's a contract with sony for exclusivity for a year.
The only way this rumer will be debunked would be to wait a year and see if it comes out on any other system.
Yep, business wise it'll be a smart move for KONAMI to take MGS4 to other consoles. We'll see within a year... hah, that would be a huge bomb when and IF they actually confirm it.
I see some of you saying how sales are/will be low for MGS4, yet I see no proof. I'm not bashing or anything, but it seems like you're making baseless points. Until we actually see projected sales compared to actual sales, we can't say anything about that.
One thing though, doesn't the ystem for PS3 games take more room on disks than 360 games?
as in a game like Oblivion takes up quite a bit more room than on the PS3
also, they could release it for the 360 in a way where it is just one game disk but with ohter disks being data disks for the extra content that would go onto the hard drive.
The 360 does have a good thing with it having a removable ahrd drive, it leaves more possibilities and the ability to upgrade you aspace, so that seems possible.
Also, you guys forget that DVDs that they use for games are different than the ones we use for burning movies. They are bigger and burned onto disk in a different way.
hopefully this comes on the 360. paying $500 for a PS3 for just one game is a huge waste of money.

xbox 360 to run MGS 4. Kojima did not say for 100 percent

recently released crossplatform only takes up 6.36
gigabytes on a Dual layer DVD but then takes up 35
gigabytes on a blue ray disc my guess is that its uncompressed
on the blue ray. so multiple discs more than likely wouldnt
be required since data can be compressed its also my guess
that a sizeable portion of the game data on a blue ray disc
isnt even read during game play hence the download straight

Sony needs this game to boost console sales so its highly
unlikley that we will see it anytime soon but just be patient.

Well, they came out with a mgs1 remake for gamecube, and then a mgs2 substence for xbox, If they ended up making it for the 360 it would take a while(but i can wait) and also could be one of 360's biggest money makers

the game is sort of rittled with sony promotions in the nomad sunny opens up a ps3 and puts it on a table and can be seen playing a psp the when the mk11 is used snake is seen holding a ps3 conrtoller and in the nomand and missouri warship(hal's laptop) all the computers are CLEARLY apples sort of bashing windows in a way
If this game is on xbox360 that will be the best. I have metalgear solid portable for my psp and i have watched my brother play metal gear solid games on his ps2. he has a ps3 and this game also. I would like to play this onmy xbox than playstation because i don't have a playsstion.

If MGS4 goes to 360, then that would be proof that Konami need the extra bucks $$$. Why? because annoying little swines go and illegally rip off awesome games and leave people with no reason to buy them. This is not necessarily occuring on the PS3 or 360, but it is happening and if it keeps happening Game Studios will go out of business and we'll have no games to play.
Konami could use VMDs for MGS4 on 360.VMDs are 4 layer dvds that can hold up to 20 gigs.they use the same red laser tech that dvds use,so this rumor could be true.i will say mgs is a good game but there wasnt any thing visually that i havent seen on 360(Mass Effect in HD looks just as good).so graphically its possible.Why microsoft hasnt gone with Vmds is the big question.Plus Mgs4 can be beatin in under 20hrs so this isnt some massive game like oblivion.i think it takes up so much space because of the cutscenes.the movies are from 10 to 40 min,some may be longer and ther are lot of them.if Assassin Creed can fit on a dvd with 3 big cities and a huge landscape in between them,then im sure mgs4 can be worked out.the same can be said for GTA4.Also microsoft makes it mandatory that developers make games playabe without a HDD for those that bought the Core system.if they changed this rule than that may solve a few problems
i really hope that mgs4 comes out for the xbox 360, why? because im not going to shell out 600 bucks for 1 fucking game its only like 20 hours of gameplay i beat it in less than a week.

I believe that if this is true than it will mean that the ps3 sales will not drop and the xbox sales wont go up,it will be the same as it is now only ps3 owners will be begging for halo 3, complaining that they lost their exclusive and now microsoft has to lose its. i think it would be great is sony got halo and microsoft got metal gear solid 4 and for online play the two different consoles could play together.
Halo is a first party title MGS 4 is a third party title sony does
not own konami. Il bet konami is already working on the xbox 360 port
but they cannot reveal that because they've made some sort of timed
exclusivity deal with sony. If konami was to reveal that an xbox 360
port was in the works game and console sales would suffer for the ps3
considering that this is a blockbuster title and also that the xbox 360
will be recieving a price drop soon lowering the price of an xbox 360
to nearly half the price of a 40 gig ps3 not to mention the install base of more than 10 million consoles world wide. 20 gig pro 360=249.99. 40 gig ps3 399.99. Sony keeps telling us that Mgs 4 is only possible on ps3
But if you've heard anything from kojima himself youd know that he has stated that MGS 4 could run happliy on an xbox 360 given that a few small details and nuances were removed there are no more technical boundries

is truly an epic masterpiece. I feel sorry for xbox 360 owners

This is just speculation of course and no details whatsoever have been released I think its a remastered version of MGS4 with new content.Here
is what i do know Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots is and always will be a PS3 exclusive. kojima has said that he will not port mgs 4 to any other console.Now this is what i think. using the title MGS existence
is a way to get around exclusivity since kojima wont make it for other consoles they simply got another team to do it. Start sweating sony fanboys.

MGS: existence, has already come out, it's an extra in MGS3 subsistence limited edition that is a 3 hour long movie of the game.
Besides, There has been no evidence or proof that it will come out to the xbox 360, in fact, theres more proof against it. It's not that I'm against the idea, it's just that I hate it when people still have to bring it up when there is no evidence.
If you don't want to buy a ps3 for this game, then don't. I wouldn't do it for just one game, but I still got a ps3 because I thought it would be a good purchase ( and perhaps because of my loyalty to Sony ) and so far it's been good, just as good as an xbox and wii.

PATIENTLY WAITING
Every next-gen Metal Gear game to date has been advertised as a Sony 'exclusive', and then months later they simply add some new features, and tack on an extra word (Substance, Subsistance), and release it to Microsoft. I have no doubt that this trend will continue. And as a 360 owner, I am waiting patiently.
Mgs 4 sales for the ps3 are starting to die down if konami gives the 360 a port they could keep the momentum and at the same time reciece a large well deserved cash infusion. If konami doesnt port this title I will
be shocked!

I would like to say that this is great. I am am positively happy that more people get to play such an awesome game.
This game will never be on the Xbox. Screw it cause it could barely fit on the blu-ray disc imagine a DVD probably 5 discs, nah no probability this game will be on the Xbox.
there is still a possibility of this ending up on 360 and obviously with 2 or maybe even 3 disks. i am trying to see this as realistic as possible, i am sure it wont be as par as the pas3 version, but i am sure it will still be amazing to play and with the sales and the demand of the 360, even though not 100% sure, think this might still make it to 360. 360 pretty much this gen is the ps2 of last gen. Microsoft has turned it around as far as software titles and exclusives are concerned. So ya there might be a lot of angry fans out there, but when it comes down to it i am sure any company would like to see more green from their product and the only true way to do that is by multiplatforming.
If MGS4 were to be released on Xbox 360, it would require 7 discs. The game uses all 50 GB of the dual-layer Blu-ray disc. A standard DVD (like what the 360 uses) holds 8 GB on a dual-layer disc. 50 / 8 = 6.25. So like I said, 7 discs...maybe 6 if they can compress it.
The kind of multi-disc concept will probably hold true for Final Fantasy XIII as well.
