Please Nintendo your first arcade type games will be crushed by Sony and Microsoft's offering.

I look forward to WiiWare software and a greater variety of game development. Sony and Microsoft are single track minded children with more power than they know how to use, lacking both vison and focus. Nintendo once again proves it has its finger on the pulse of fun.

Not that anyone said the same thing about the entire Wii console...
Or the name Wii...
Or the Wiimote...
Sports mini-games packaged with the console? They'll be no fun at all.

But why should I reserve judgment? It's not like Nintendo has ever proven people wrong about their ideas before.

I'd like to see the developer kits and how tightly nintendo keeps their wiimote papers to their chest. If people can code games using the wiimote it could become a launching platform for all sorts of creative endeavors. If, however, nintendo restricts access to some information for the console I'll agree with the first poster that other play online arcade models will pwn the wii.

How many people have played Bust a move wii and not thought to themselves, a 12 year old could have made this more fun? If the resource docs are there for using the wiimote, people could take dozens of open source games that are garbage to play now with a standard controller, and make them fun again. There are mid 80's games I'd LOVE to play with a wiimote, that is where the money will be. Bringing new life to old games and genres with the gameplay, not just making the same old thing with better graphics.

Now if ONLY Nintendo would roll out a kit to mod gamecube games to work with the Wiimote, an even better way for them to make some money. People would easily pay $5 to make their gamecube games playable with the wii controls. Who needs Metroid Wii if you have two nintendo gamecube games that would be just as fun to play?
Both would make wii own what the other consoles are offering.
