Wii Gun Controller Arrives

The first Wii gun controller comes to market, albeit via third-party

Ever since we capped endless rounds of virtual lead into the poor pixilated poultry in Ninty’s classic light gun game, we’ve all had a special place in our hearts for shooting peripherals.
Well, looks like Piranha Accessories, a third-party peripheral manufacturer, has beaten Nintendo to the light gun punch by releasing its own gun expansion.
The W14 Gun (pictured below and on Piranha's website, which we dare you to translate,) works like Ninty’s blaster by way of snapping the Wii Remote into the ‘barrel’ which aims the remote's sensor at the screen.
The peripheral hasn’t been priced on Piranha's site, but it’s said be available now for â19.99 (around £14).
UPDATE: On July 11, 2007 Nintendo unveiled the official gun zapper. Below is an image of it. The Zapper will sell for $19.99 (no wiimote, nunchuk included... it's just the casing). Check out our HANDS-ON IMPRESSIONS here.
