On the heels of announcing NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the Wii in US, UK and Japanese territories, SEGA just new more info about the game including the cool news that the game uses the Wii's Forecast Channel to change in-game scenery according to real-world seasons.
In-game environments will be affected by real weather conditions using Wii's Forecast Channel. Suh-weet!
SEGA Europe's official website also revealed that NiGHTS Wii features three collectible 'Persona' masks accessible over its seven environments. Depending on what mask you don - Dragon, Dolphin or Rocket - you’ll get special powers that coincide with the masks characteristics. Dragon is wind power, Dolphin water, Rocket, speed – you get the idea.
Another cool feature is you’ll be able to exchange unspecified items with one another using Wii Connect 24.
The Wii remote will play heavily into the flight-action gameplay mechanics, utilizing the Wii controller to physically maneuver characters movement to glide, weave, dive, spiral, loop and blast through the Nightopia skies.
NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams is scheduled for release on Wii in winter 2007.
There’s also a hair more plot info, but not much – Nightopia, a universe where dreams are brought to life, is being over-run by the so-called Nightmarens, and it's up to NiGHTS to make the most of his acrobatic skills, his freedom of flight and the special abilities he obtains via shape-shifting masks to save his world.
