Yes indeed, spread a gleeful smile, hitch up your skirts, and dance a jaunty jig, because Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive have today finally put expectant Grand Theft Auto fans out of their long-suffering misery.
Grand Theft Auto IV will be released simultaneously on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – and to retailers worldwide – on April 29, 2008.
That’s not spurious rumour, kids… we read it firsthand… on a proper press release… it’s, you know, like, the real deal.
Are you excited? Rockstar sure seems to be.
"We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV," said Sam Houser excitedly, Founder and [excited] Executive Producer of Rockstar Games . "We’ve pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment…" and um, videogame excitement?
So, another 12 weeks and we can finally bear witness to Niko’s adventures in the land of the free as he single-handedly takes on Liberty City and all it can throw at him. We can also gaze lovingly at the promised innovation, the wealth of new gameplay features, the impressive physics, and the uncomfortably familiar looking prostitutes – yuck-yuck.
