Talk about misleading. Releasing it in the next financial year does NOT mean 2009 release, it means a release somewhere between April 2008 and March 2009.

There is absolutely no reason to assume that it will be a 2009 release. You're title makes as much sense as saying 'PlayStation 3 suffers another blow as Haze faces July, August, or September 2008 release'. Misleading people just to make a story seem a lot more interesting than it is is not cool. Not cool.

agreed! this just a lame attempt to lure traffic with a sensationalist headline

theres some solid business sense behind this delay - see here > forums.spong.com/x?msg=39052#39052

Indeed,

We who frequent Ubisofts Haze Forums, have enough problems correcting n00bs with outlandish release dates from Gaming stores, we don't need journalists playing with verbiage to further muddy the waters. The previous poster was correct, the current release projection is FY2008, which is April 1st 2008 to March 31st 2009. Odds are good it'll hit in 2008, sooner than later.

I agree! Title was misleading!!Jan 24th, 2008 - 20:39:40

What a shame! You read the news and see there is no real pushing out to 2009!

HAHA! Wow, this was a very very bad title. A game originally planned to come out during Novemeber 2007 pushed all the way back to March 2009?! Does that sound even possible - within that time, they could recreate the whole entire game and create another different game! Alright, so it might not be coming this March 2008, but it's definitely not coming a year after either haha.

Very poor sensationalist journalism to give a shot in the arm to your site traffic!

The obvious assumption would be to assume they've pushed it into Q1 of next year due to their already strong performance this FY with the likes of Assassin's Creed.

There is no reason to suggest that it is delayed because of further production complications, it's more likely the result of a management decision...

Maybe you should change your headline to:

PS3 suffers another blow as Haze faces possible 3rd April 2008 release

That way it will save the 360 fanboys shooting their load over their keyboard!!!!

It's quite possibly however, that they're taking the extra time to brush up on the MP balance. Given there are two asynchronous skill sets that need to be somewhat even, I'd imagine that would take some serious time to get correct. I've had it pre-ordered since June of 2007, I'm keeping my preorder ;)

Just another example of the PS3's poor underlying system (hardware + API) leaving developers in a bad spot. If they had developed on the xbox 360 they would have made it out ontime and onbudget. Just as UT3 was late and has underperformed, this will make all the developers rethink the PS3. Unless Sony ponies up some cash to make up for the difficulty in developing for their derailed console you will see it fall to gamecube status, where like the gamecude on the the manufacture developed titles and crappy movie tie games that release for EVERY platform at once will lead on the PS3.

You think the big and small software developers don't notice UT3, Drake's (mis)fortune, Dexter and bomb, Lair, and all the other games that were going to be blockbusters that changed PS3's fate all return horrible sales #'s and most took too long to release?

Now look at Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4... the PS3 versions are buggy and have been crushed 4 to 1 by the Xbox 360! Who is going to keep writing for the PS3 when these results happen over and over again?!?

People said the PS3 wasn't harder to program, that developers would 'get the hang of it' but it will be 2 years now that the PS3 has had dev kits, and still Grand Turismo can't even commit to a release date!?! Games like Haze can't ship within a YEAR of the original targeted release date?!

Home is delayed, Little Planet, delayed, Haze, delayed... there is a pattern here...

I think the xbox 360 will rule 2008... and thaty momentum will keep it on top.

Amen Bummer.

After the abysmal 2007 year for Sony, while Microsoft has blockbuster after blockbuster, and 2 games named 'game of the year,' 11 games in the top ten sales for the year (vs 2 games for Sony) . . . what publisher in their right mind would focus on the PS3?? The Xbox is where the money is, they know that, they can read the new, they can do the math.

Why pay more to develop on something that will sell less??

So Sony, you enjoy your games ported over from superior 360 versions. . . Sorry about your framerate issues with Orange box too . .

life must suck . . . wouldn't it have been nice if Sony had lowered the prices on the PS3, instead of buying Warner studios for 500 million?

Oh well, I guess you have a really good movie player, on a really crappy gaming system.
