I don't see Crytek doing this unless they want another software sales flop.

Uncharted... PS3's best current game is still only ~22 in the all format charts.

It must be the PS3's turn this week, maybe next week it will be the Wii's turn, but seriously if can ported to the PS3 then it'll probablly be even easier to port to the 360 which has more general purpose memory available and since the PC version doesn't require Blu-Ray any talk of technical reasons why it can be on one system and not the other is pure fantasy.

Maybe the HD will be used and the fact that there aren't HDs in every 360 lead to the choice.

Don't buy any of this.
It's pure PS Fanboy drivel.
If anything, the sales numbers for xbox 360 sales vs. PS3 sales would at least cause Crytek devs to postpone a PS3 port until more units of the consoles reached consumers hands.
(Although they did release it to the pC audience with only 500,000 users or less being able to run the game at it's highest settings. I have a quad-core processor, 8gb or ram, and a 512mb 8600gtx card and can't run the game very long on high settings without any frame dropping, game lag, or lockups. Would LOVE to see it run on it's highest settings but can't justify spending another $500-$700 on updating my system just to play this game. Heck, I already have nearly a grand wrapped up in the ram and video card alone.)

Would bank money on the port being easier to pull of on the 360 (albeit scaled down signifigantly) than the PS3.
I wouldn't get too excited about either console getting it until Crytek themselves made the announcement.

Personally, I would rather see it on the 360 as xbox live is a far superior service to sony.net.

Still, it would be cheaper to buy either console and this game if released as a complete port than it would to update my already bangin' current system.

@Theossie

I did consider that but the 360's user base even without the core/arcade models is still much larger than the PS3s and i seem to remember reading that while MS were not that happy about hard drive only games it would be possible to do them with an HDD only label on the box.

Personally i don't think HDD is a factor and i think encouraging partial or full HDD installs on games consoles is a step in the wrong direction, what would be next upgradable ram, graphics cards and then you get the system requirement issues and your back with a PC.

Optional part install for faster loading is one thing but having to check for mandatory drive space requirements every time you perchase a game is too much like PC gaming and if consoles ever went in that direction we might as well save the money and buy new graphics cards instead,

The 'supposeed' technicl diffuculties with the xbox 360 is in no question due to the lack of a hard drive in all Xbox 360's. This is imoirtant for future gaming because though crysis shipped as a dvd9 for the pc, it is actually 12 gigs in total . It needs to stream to the hard drive, especailly when the PS3 and Xbox only have 512 of memory for use.

MS should be smart and lower the price for HD add-ons so that the - and no pun intentended - cheap aracade core users can buy a hard drive. Mass Effect would have had less frame rate issues and other annoyinces if the game was able to stream date to the Hard Drive. My suggestion: Offer the 20 gig drive for about 50 bucks, a 40 or 60 gig for about 79-89 bucks, and the 120 gig for 100-129 bucks. And possibly a 250 gig for about 179? jmho

@Jack Tors

Xbox 360 games can stream to the hard drive when a hard drive is present, i'm playing Mass Effect at the moment and apart from some very minor flaws that i'm sure they could of polished given a bit more dev time, the game rocks!

I agree with you that MS should make more HD options available though and i've got a feeling they will some time soon.
