I think its a great deal.
Your point about being able to pick up a similar deal by shopping with Amazon is a weak point. Amazon has always sold the latest games at £32 instead of the £45 most retail shops charge - thats the whole point of being a discount online retailer!
The fact is, that now anyone can walk into their favourite high street retail store, like Woolworths or Dixons etc, and pick up a PS3 and 2 premium games at the same discount price as the cheapest and best online deal available.
...oh, and you could do with a bit better research as you quote the price for Singstar solos, with no microphones. The bundel deal is for SingStar with the two Microphones, and so is a much better deal.
This is a great deal. You're getting a system that you will have and use for 10 years. PS3 is a great investment.
It's a good deal.
It's pointless to start making comparisons between online discounts and in-store RRP. They're different, it's always been like that.
The in store RRP price of the PS3 with 2 first party games, in this bundle - is £349. Great.
Try checking online prices in a months time, when online retailers will most likely be undercutting that deal specifically and you might get an even better deal closer to the £299 mark.
Not much of a deal?
The arguments expressed above don't really back up that statement.
It seems like more of a 360 fanboy mini-rant to be honest.
At least you can be confident that your new ps3 will actually work, where as a 360 is more like a ticking time bomb (RRoD).
To be honest that was the big issue that sealed the deal for me in buying a ps3 as opposed to a 360, reliablity.
Eseentially not having a nightmare sceanario of sending your machine back and waiting to have it repeaired, and then having to face the fact that it may not last long when you do get it back.
Another round of Halo wasn't worth that hastle in my opnion.
Well, if you order it online you have to pay for S&H and still wait a couple of days to get your PS3, but if you are an eager gamer you could just drive to your local retail store and get this very good combo, without having to wait!
at the fanboy reaction. Someone points out that the deal is not actually a saving and you all get upset. Sony really need to drop the price dramatically to make me think it is a good deal.
Ups, looks like the autor of the article is a bit stupid....
Or is that Microsoft money?
A shame for you anyway.
How on earth can anyone say this is a good deal?
A couple of months ago they were selling the 60GB version with with two games (most stores let you choose which two) and an extra controller for £350.
Now, its the crippled 40GB version (less hard drive space, No PS2 games will work on it, and 2 less USB ports), 2 games, and no extra controller for £350.
Hello people, wake up. Their charging you more, while your getting less.
to the last poster yes they did have the 60gb with 2 games a while bk as that is what i got but u dont get to choosse the games they were formula 1 and resistance u get unlike this one were u can actually pick the 2 best games out for ps3 uncharted and ratchet and clank
It's amazing how many people chimed in with 'it's a great deal' to something that any kindergarten kid can figure out is not a 'sale' at all. The whole point of the article is to expose how Sony told customers they were getting this great 'deal' which turns out isn't any different than you going to the store and buying the same items separately. It's advertised as a 'bundle' - but you can 'bundle' that yourself, and it won't cost you any more! Do you get it now? Or do you need it tattooed directly on you brain?
OK LETS SUMMURIZE PS3 £280 PLAUS 2 TOP GAMES ANOTHER £80 AS THEY ARE 40 EACH THAT BEING THE CHEAPEST GAMES ARE IN STORES SUM EVEN 45 SO THAT WOULD MAKE IT £360 SO IF U ADD THAT UP UR SAVING £10 NOT MUCH BT STILL SAVING WHICH IS WOT SONY ARE SAYING .
WOW, CAN YOU TYPE ANY LOUDER????
Go on-line with Dixons.co.uk before the end of January and you can get a PS3 for £269. Use the discount code JAN10 for an extra £10 off the listed price. Now you have £80 to spend on anything you like! Thank you Sony for a wonderful console but next time make it a real good deal!
bill u really should read the other comments before making ur own as som1 did say online isnt way different from actual instore prices always has been always will be .what sony are saying is that this deal is 350 in all stores no higher . so u shouldnt be talking abt online as everything is cheaper online
Are you stupid welsh? They removed the emotion engine. Not PS2 support fucktard.
