The NPD (U.S.) sales numbers for March 2007 are in and God of War II hacked apart the competition. Kratos' second bloodthirsty quest for vengeance sold 833,209 units -- over twice as many as the next best-selling title, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on the Xbox 360.
God of War II sold more than twice what the next best-selling game sold last month. Boo-yah!
The PlayStation 2 made a good showing with seven titles in the top 20. MLB 07: The Show comes in at number seven, right below the 360's Major League Baseball 2K7. And interestingly while the 360 version of Guitar Hero II debuted in the number three spot, the PS2 bundle is still selling well, coming in at number nine.
If you’re wondering why the 360 version of Guitar Hero II is on an NPD list for March when it came out on April 3,NPD follows a 4-5-4 retail calendar, so the data covers the period between March 4 to April 7.
