No duh! It's too expensive - only the hardcore fans bought it.
Record-breaking sales of a newly released console were hardly going to be followed up by a rise in units sold the following week, were they? The more interesting question is what kind of gamer is buying in week 2?
The figures that actually matter, as XBoss himself Bill Gates has said, will be overall sales after Christmas 2008. That's when the main 'user base' will be installed, and the shape of things to come might be better known.
you ca,nt beat the old computer games, so for me, stuff ur ps3
PS3 is expensive.
Requires HDTV.
Games are expensive both to buy or to make.
So dont think it will be doing any good
UNTIL
price comes down,
more people have HDTV,
better and HUGE selection of games to choose from (theres no point in playing ps2 games in ps3...just waste)
and BlueRay disks become as cheap as DVD.
Until then better go with Wii caus currently its more fun, CHEAP and you dont have to be a gamer to play it...
XBOX360 is also an option BUT when ps3 actually becomes big...it will have
the same (or even better) content as X360...however wont have the functions of Wii.
How about the fact that most outlets are probably sold out of the PS3 and thuse second week sales would inevitably drop due to low supply. God damn people are stupid. I bet it was exactly the same for Wii and X-Box 360.
You can walk in any shop and get a ps3, the drop in sales isnt due to shortage of stock, its due to shortage of sonys fanbase in the u.k now.
How about the PS2 hasn't sold out at all and is still on shelves in supermarkets. It's widely available, it's just not selling.
Spyko, PS2 is the number one selling home console right now, albeit barely ahead of the Wii by abour 30,000 units..
Nintendo is basking in their extreme profit right now, gearing up for another onslaught of their unique gaming systems. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced the DS Lite's Successor in the next 6-12 months.
