The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has slapped a restriction on when adverts for video game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" can be shown on UK TV.
The advert will now only be broadcast after 9pm following complaints when it was aired at earlier times when young children may have been watching.
A spokesman for the ASA said: "We could understand the parents’ concerns that it was inappropriate for young children to see this level of violence in advertising for a product which was only available to adults."
"The advertising was shown in breaks around programmes which, although not designed specifically for children, were considered to be acceptable family viewing."
