Thomas Tull, executive producer on the film 300, has founded a new video game company, Brash Entertainment, with his new partner Bert Ellis, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
What does 300, video games and Hollywood investors have in common? Apparently quite alot.
Brash Ent. has indicated that they are interested in creating a 300 video game (hopefully better then recent PSP port) and they hope to develop between 60 and 100 titles over the next 5 years.
The partners have already closed $6 million in funding and are said to be very close to securing $150 million in private equity from a "major media technology investor" and others. The deal is expected to be complete by the first week in April.
Brash plans to bring games to market that are associated with “brands you'll know," Ellis said, including a possible PC game based on 300.
Tull, who is the CEO of Superman Returns producer Legendary Pictures, is also producing Warcraft, a movie based on the wildly popular MMO World of Warcraft. Ellis is a former CEO of Atlanta Web consulting firm iXL Enterprises Inc. and an owner of Orange County, Calif.-based Anaheim Ducks broadcaster KDOC-TV.
