Wi want to rule your world. Too bad Sony didn't think of it first.

[this is an official impulse post]

If you think playing a game called supermonkeyball sounds 'fruity' consider that all that killing and explosions your bad ass is creating is pixels on a damn tv screen. You are so hardcore cool man. Whoa, nobody is more hardcore than somebody sitting on his couch pushing buttons. Videogames are fun, but they don't make you a tough guy, no matter how much you pay for them.

And that's why I bought another ps2 instead of the ps3.

Well, for hardcore PC gamers, you already have your computer for all the high end graphic and processing power. The Wii and the 360 are for when friends are over or when you want to play on XBox Live and such. PS3 is just something thats cool but its there and its kinda expensive so unless you have $600 laying around somewhere not doing anything, most likely you will not get it.

I think that sony's ps3 is just a pice of crap because eventhough if it has 1080p graphics just one game, so far has been developed wiht that graphic(nba 07); however, xbox 360 has 720p graphic, which are most of sony ps3 games' graphic and it cost 200 lest. nevertheless, nintendo's wii is $250.00 dollars and eventhough it lack HD or Blu-ray disc, it stills reproduces in HD format (480p). so way to pay that much for something with no meaning and besides eventhough if nintendo doesn't win the race for the sales, so far they have sold more than 3.5 millions wii, on the contrary to the ps3, which is 1.3 millions. The numbers are talking.

Why get PS3 when you can buy the Xbox 360 AND the Wii? I can't believe how crazy people are to spend six hundred bucks for good graphics! The Xbox 360 has graphics that are not far away from the PS3. Some people just buy the PS3 to show off. I buy video games to have fun.

PS3 rules. I have played or purchased every gaming console since Sears Pong in 70's and obviously atari 2600. Get a grip, ps3 is the bomb. Don't be a hater cause you don't have one.

Somehow I doubt Jay was even born in the 70's given his wording...

Anyway, all these Wii vs. PS3 posts are the same. A few PS3 fanboys but mostly everyone agrees that the Wii kicks the PS3's butt.

- When you go to the store you see lines for the Wii while the PS3 sits on the shelf.
- When you turn on TV you see all kinds of shows talking about/playing with Wii's but the PS3 is nowhere to be found.
- Wii sales are more than double PS3 sales.
- When there's large gatherings of gamers (like gameshows) and a Wii and PS3 are around, Wii gets all the lovin.
- Can anyone think of a PS3 YouTube video? I haven't seen any..

While Sony opted for a high end machine, Nintendo decided to give us something completely new. Even if we didn't know before it's clear now that gamers were craving innovation. Nintendo delivered.

People said it was the war to end all wars. Sony said there would be no hunger. This was back in 1987, when the world was still young. Well, Sony lied, and people died. Disenfranchised children roam the streets of every major metropolitan city in the world these days.

Corporate greed.

Corporate greed causes cancer, global starvation, and, yes, even herpes. Sony has pretty much single-handedly ruined the world with its products. Someone must stop this madness!

Seen some comments... but remember video games were originally designed for people to sit on their behinds and escape reality, not to get active, and most gamers are like that (Do I need to argue?). That's why I have this feeling that Wi is just an impulse and doesn't serve the purpose of PS3. And games are becoming so sophisticated, you'll need more than a 4.3Gb DVD disc to store them... So Sony have obviously built the machine to last, that's why they couldn't care about the price at the moment, and I'm sure the most supportive fans of Wi will be lured to PS3 once Wi's and XBox360's graphics becomes dated in the next few years.

This is a no-brainer. Unless Sony drops the price to the 399.00 range it will sit on the shelf gathering dust. It may be the coolest hardware out there - but it is TOO expensive. Sitting in line (many times) to purchase a Wii for my kids I heard the same thing from the other parents in line. My guess is that Nintendo could have sold another 1M for Xmas if they were available. I could have purchased a PS3 many times, even before Xmas, nobody wanted them. In fact talk to the GameStop people and they will all tell you that they are getting more from returns than selling.

The PS3 has just about 1 thing on the 360, sound quality and you need to shell out another few hundred bucks to have the equipment to use it. Plus the developers are having trouple with the blu-ray disks, sure they hold a ton on them but the don't load fast enough. When Bethesda was porting oblivion to the PS3 they had place the same info on the same disc over and over just to get it to load fast enough. Sony's biggest mistake was when they tried to use the cell for graphics too. Its the same reason that you use a GPU in a computer, cpu's are build for mathematical processes not rendering graphics. So in the end they paniced and had NVidia rig one up for them. Both the Wii and 360 had ATI build GPU's specifically for their systems. I personally forsee some problems to from this.

In response to anyone who says that the Wii's downfall is it's lack of internet play:

As of right now the Wii does not support online play. Until Nintendo can get some stuff sorted out it won't have it. But there will be online play soon so don't worry. It'll just be a small update or maybe a big huge one with lots of new stuff. It will be completely free too (except for the game of course).

I'm pretty sure sony doesn't make it's own PS servers and makes the dev's do that. If that's the case I'm sure we'll see less online games and more games with higher prices.

PS3 stinks and the Wii rules. Just a funny little thing I want to tell everyone: When I went to Best Buy to get my Wii there were a whole bunch of PS3's there and no one even cared. I started laughing about it and some guy asked me why I was laughing and when I told him he started laughing too. I'm such a nerd.......

PS3 will win in the long run because the price will drop over time and the technology will still be state of the art. Xbox will have to release 2 or 3 more generations before catches up and by then the PS4 will be on the way. Wii is a fad that will burn out within a year or two because cartoony games can only be done and redone so many times.

All of the above has already happened before. History always repeats itself.

All you PS haters are just jealous because you're too poor to afford the PS3. Poor folks always talk shite when they can't get with the richer. You're all pathetic.

PS3 is for the intelligent and well off. Better quality, better technology, better games, better graphics, better functions. All you retards need to learn the biggest life lesson and that is you get what you pay for. Any cheapo who doesn't understand that will always be an hourly working slave living in a dumpy house and wishing for better things in life.

The PS3 is a year behind and doesn't really have a noticable difference from the 360. and sure the price will go down some. But to be honest the technology in the PS3 isn't that much better than the 360, its last years tech they just delayed it because they couldn't get it right. Also, think of why the PS2 outsold XBOX. They were earlier and cheaper and had more games, but the XBOX was twice as powerful and had awesome online (especially compared to its competitors who didn't have online). The PS3 is only slightly more powerful than the 360 at best and its almost twice as expensive and to top it off it came out a year late. Who's gonna do better? by the previous model of PS2 vs. XBox the 360 is going to do the best. And PS3 is gonna have more and/or better games? Bull! they lost almost all of their product loyalty all they really have left is Final fantasy and Tekken. 2 words that will give the 360 dominance Halo 3. Think how much the first 2 sold. Then also consider that even Bungie thinks they should have and could have done better on Halo 2 and consider how many still sold.

Microsoft did it best this time around. Nothing can be said against that, they have the smaller, cheaper and sexier box. They have better online. And to top it off they HAD A YEAR HEAD START to fully cement their game base and get the bugs out before the other consoles were released.

Alright folks, let's set a few things straight here about the consoles. Note: these are the facts as how I see it. If you disagree, that is your opinion and I won't insult you for it. PS3 fanboys, if you don't have a concrete comment, stuff it. 'Just 'cuz PS3 rulez!' doesn't cut it with me.

X-Box 360
- Reasonably priced
- Great online capability and Windows XP MCE Integration
- Lots of good games.
- Been longer than most consoles, thus equaling more established roots.
- Not overly complicated to work.
- Nice size for a console.

Nintendo Wii
- Fairly priced
- New and interesting style of gameplay. Though, it takes getting used to.
- While lacking in online components at the moment, the weather and news channels are handy. Built-in opera web browser is nice to have, don't need to boot your PC to check your webmail.
- Nintendo has been around for a while and will always be remembered for fun gameplay.
- Not completely marketed 'for kids,' Red Steel from Ubi is pretty gory and graphics are sweet. Also, they're not cartoony.
- Built-in SD card slot and photo viewer is nifty to share photos with loved ones.
- Only console that my girlfriend likes to play on (asides from the Game Cube).
- Small and highly portable.

Sony Playstation 3
- Prices are a little steep for most, but cheaper than a decked out gaming PC.
- Cheapest Blueray player that you can buy, for now until NEC releases its dual-format (Blueray/HD-DVD) player.
- Possibly *the* most advanced console on the market, so far.
- Wireless, 6 axis tilt sensitive controller isn't bad.
- Integrates nicely with the PSP wirelessly.
- A little chunky as well as heavy, so not too many people are gonna bring this thing out to parties.
- A few more things, but I don't have experience with them to comment.

My personal favorite at the moment: The Wii
Reasons: It has a lot of potential with its wireless controller. We could see some productivity apps that could tie in with the DS (with it's touchscreen) as well. Also, being Canadian, winter makes it kinda hard to exercise with -20-30 C temps and the Wii Sports has a pretty good work out mode, I've lost some weight due to it.

However, I give the X-Box 360 and PS3 props for their respective features as well. Right now, I'm using the Wii to help get into shape. Plus, you can't fit a home gym into a dorm room and the college gym is always packed.

Price may not be the only difference, either. Anyone notice that the sales of the Wii DOUBLED the combined sales of the PS2 AND the PS3.
