‘Comic’ Ralphie May slams the Xbox 360 without success (NSFW)

While the recent Spike TV Video Game Awards saw the emergence of a host of big fat software winners and a list of worthy nominations, the only real big fat loser on the night was comedian (and we use that term in its loosest sense) Ralphie May.

Poor Ralphie, who’s a regular on NBC's Last Comic Standing, took to the stage during the glitzy awards show to present the Spike VGA award for Best Individual Sports Game but first threw himself bodily into a monologue attacking the reliability of the Xbox 360.

Ralphie’s brand of ‘raw’ comedy saw him enjoying the sound of silence after asking if someone in attendance could "fix my f*****g Xbox [360], please…" before going on to witness tumbleweeds of despair blowing down the aisles as he elaborated on his opening rib-tickler by explaining his console has broken down three times and that perhaps the Xbox 360 should therefore be renamed "Xbox… It Don’t Work." Hilarious.

With the crowd offering scant little by way of amusement and celebrity cutaways revealing distinctly forced chuckling and looks of discomfort – though mainly due to Ralph’s recurrent reliance on his ‘hey, I’m fat’ safety net – it’s easy to see that perhaps comedy is not Ralph’s first love and writing a genuinely funny three-minute filler wasn’t worth the appearance fee or his integrity.

Also, if this particular slice of completely unfunny spleen venting was rehearsed prior to the show’s recording then it’s also easy to understand why co-presenter Mike Vogel of upcoming monster flick Cloverfield chose to let Ralph ‘do his thing’ before joining him on stage to list off the nominations.

Click below for cast iron proof that almost anyone can be a comic these days seeing as laughter is no longer a prerequisite.
